Kylin series has always been one of the best choices for the user. And it all started with the famous Kylin RTA tank. Since then we have had the Kylin Mini and Kylin V2, both of which had absolutely excellent flavor levels and high vapor density. Among their advantages is that it was easy to install coils on them, and they looked great in performance, the most important of which is the high density of steam. The Kylin M RTA tank is the latest addition to this series. It has maintained its appearance similar to the previous Kylin tanks, but this time it has been allocated to the mesh coil, which is very similar in its way to the wonderful Profile Unity tank.

The Kylin M tank holds up to 4.5ml of liquid and is filled from the top in an easy way. In addition, there are twenty holes for airflow and of course you will get many options to control the airflow through the large number of holes. It works with an upper air flow system, and usually this mechanism is not good for enhancing flavor, and we will find out in the course of the report.

Design and quality
It seems that the aesthetic touches in the Kylin M are very similar to those found in previous Kylin tanks. There are engravings on the perimeter of the upper cover as well as on the perimeter of the base. These engravings help you to firmly grip the piece to facilitate its disassembly. It is certainly a design touch of the Kylin series. It measures 24mm in diameter, so it's a medium size and can fit most devices without getting bulky.

Overall, it's a good looking tank. I was able to get the silver version of this report, but it is also available in several other colors to satisfy as many tastes as possible. The build quality is good, as you would expect from Vandy Vape, and all parts are clean and machined very well.

In the box, you will get one 810 mouthpiece, which is wide-bore, made of resin and comes in different colors and shapes. The mouthpiece is thick enough and you feel comfortable when applying it on the lips.

The top cap opens by twisting through the thread, and the filling ports are large. It is my favorite type because it is more secure and ensures that it will not open accidentally while in your pocket. The threads are smooth, the lid opens and closes smoothly.

Under the cap, the filling port is low profile. It extends down a few millimeters, so if you turn the tank upside down, liquid will collect in this part of the cap. I've found this useful when I want to check or see cotton or koil. There are two large fill ports, so I had no problem filling the tank. In addition, the fill port section is shaped like a bowl and slopes downward to direct liquid into the perforations.

You will get two glasses with Kylin M. The first is a regular straight bottle that holds up to 3.5ml of liquid, while the convex bottle can hold up to 4.5ml.

The airflow system on the Kylin M is top and honeycomb shaped, consisting of 20 small holes. The air is fed through these upper holes, then it is diverted downward at an inclined degree - through two large holes inside the tank - on the sides of the coil, and then the air goes to the mouthpiece. “It's a long journey”!
There is no whistling when pulling, but the sound of air during use is a bit loud.

With the ring set and the holes fully open, you'll get a wide air intake, but the flavor concentration will be less. And by restricting the holes to the middle which is the way I like it with this tank, the level of airflow is more satisfactory. As for closing the airflow vents completely, you will get very little airflow, and this is not suitable for working with mesh coils. It will end up getting very steamy and unsatisfying.
For best results, I suggest setting the airflow anywhere from the middle to fully open.

Base Build Deck

The shape and design of the Kylin M base is almost identical to the Wotofo Profile Unity tank. It has two spring loaded clips and they are a bit narrow in size, these clips have Phillips screws and are of good quality but a bit short. So be careful not to open the screws too much or they will slide out due to the spring.

The center of the surface features a piece of ceramic that is also spring-loaded. The ceramic piece presses down while fixing the cotton and then rises up on the cotton to make full contact with the mesh coil. It's a really cool design, and if you've ever fitted a mesh coil, you'll know that anywhere the cotton isn't touching the coil, you'll get a hot spot. Therefore, the spring-loaded ceramic piece completely eliminates this problem.

The groove or hole in which the cotton stalks descend is wide enough to contain a large amount of cotton, but it is not abundant, and it is oval in shape and large enough. I've never had the problem of dry hits, and if you install the cotton properly, you certainly won't.

Coil and cotton installation
If you've never ridden a mesh coil before, the process can be a little tricky. However, once you know what you're doing, the process is easy and simple.
The Kylin M comes with everything you need: a pair of different mesh coils, two pieces of cotton, and a tool for shaping and bending the coil.
The 0.20Ω mesh coils have wider, more spaced holes and look like a honeycomb. As for the coils with a resistance of 0.15 Ω, they contain closely spaced slots and look more traditional, and that is what I preferred to use.

I first started by opening the screws a bit. The coil - or rather the grille - is very thin, so you don't have to loosen the screws a lot. In addition, since the clips are spring-loaded, opening the screws too much will cause the spring to push the screw and it will fall out. Next, I took a 0.15Ω coil and used the shaping tool to make a semi-circle bend. This is the important part. No bending or getting creases required in the coil. Instead, just curve around the tool to carefully and perfectly form a semicircle. Take the coil and place the ends into the clamps (and again, make sure not to bend or wrinkle the net!). Try to get it to sit as evenly as possible and take your time with that - you can use the rows on the ends of the coil to help you. Then gently tighten the screws until the coil snaps into place. Then you take a piece of cotton and insert it carefully under a net. Press down on the spring-loaded ceramic piece with the cotton as this will facilitate the insertion of the cotton. Do this being careful not to bend the coil at all. Give the cotton a slight combing to reduce its density so that the liquid is absorbed quickly.

You can find it a bit difficult to cut the cotton, so cut one side of the cotton and put it in place first. This way, if you cut it too small, you can pull some length off the other side. You will need to cut the cotton until it reaches the end of the duct. You must make sure that the cotton is fully in contact with the coil, otherwise you will face the problem of burning, and the taste of burning with the mesh coils, no one wants to try it!

the performance
When I first got the Kylin M, I was so excited. Previous Kylin tanks have all been excellent flavored RTAs, so the Kylin M is certainly no different. Unfortunately, the Kylin M is lower than its predecessors, and that probably has a lot to do with the upper airflow configuration. Please don't get me wrong, I don't mean the flavor level is bad. But it's not top notch and certainly not what I'd expect from a Kylin tank.

The 0.20Ω coil was the worse of the two included in the box. The best performance was from 40w to 50w watts, but it didn't deliver great flavor. I was getting a very silent steam and wasn't able to taste what I might normally taste with my favorite liquids.

As for the coil with a resistance of 0.15Ω and a power between 55w-60w, it was definitely better than the other one. The flavor I got from this coil was much better than the 0.20Ω coil, although it wasn't perfect. With this coil, in my opinion, the level of Kylin M in terms of flavor enhancement is in the range between average and good, it's nothing special but it's not bad either.

Its performance in terms of wetting the cotton was good, and I did not face the problem of burning or drying of the cotton. Although I used it repeatedly and consecutively. But if you encounter the problem of burning or drying of the cotton, it is likely that it is due to your method of installing the cotton. Make sure that the coil is perfectly curved and does not have angles at the ends, and that the cotton is fully connected to the coil.

Conclusion
The Kylin M is a nice tank. The workmanship is good, the building surface is very smooth but not the best in terms of flavor enhancement. As for the other things about this tank, it is so good that I was hoping it would be a contender for the best RTAs of 2019, but unfortunately I don't think so.

The 0.20Ω coil is not good while the 0.15Ω coil only works at a medium level. And as I mentioned in the course of the report, this may have a lot to do with the upper airflow system, as previous Kylin tanks have all had a lower airflow system and provided excellent flavour. We hope that there will be another upgraded version with a lower air flow system.

      General tips for using a vape

      When should I increase or decrease the nicotine level?

      If you feel that you are smoking too much, this means that you are not satisfied with nicotine and you need to increase it. If you feel a headache or dizziness, this means that you are consuming too much nicotine and you need to reduce it.

      When should the coil be changed?

      It has no specific date and varies according to the amount of use and the type of liquid used, but the rule is that you will feel the taste of burnt cotton or sparks, and then you will know that the coil is burned.

      How do I clean the tank?

      Remove the coil from the tank and wash the tank with running tap water, dry it well with tissues or a hair dryer, then reinstall the coil. The coil cannot be cleaned or washed because it contains cotton. If it drinks water, it will be ruined.

      If you want to change the taste of the liquid and get rid of the old taste in the tank, you will empty the tank of all liquid, then install the coil and start heating it at the lowest wattage to evaporate the liquid on the cotton (3 times for 4 seconds), not too much so as not to burn the cotton, and then you will put in the new liquid.
